12-13 (21/12/25) -- Holiday Spirit

After several grey days, many filled with snow, rain or a mixture thereof, yesterday was a gift. The roads were dry after much wind and rain overnight. Scary gusts in area in the region of 90-100+ km/h (55-60+ mph). Higher gusts occurred west and east of here. Wild. But yesterday, while still windy, made driving to grocery store and other chores doable.

I encountered positives throughout the day. The sun shone as the afternoon wore on. Two short conversations in the grocery store led to receiving holiday greetings. At another store, where I was buying a single loaf of bread, the woman in front of me in line offered to let me go ahead of her. What a lovely gesture. It was the 'fast' lane -- less than 15 items -- so the wait wouldn't be long, but I took in the spirit it was given. A sales person in yet another store offered to order in extra of a product I buy regularly. I have an online order out there somewhere, but it has been delayed due to weather issues from Ontario to here over the past 10 days. Still not sure when it will get further down the road.

Given the craziness of shopping this close to a holiday, people were in positive moods. This reminded me of a song I heard on a Christmas special last week. I will share that song here today, along with one other. The second is a lovely duet and version of a traditional holiday song. The show and release made me smile with their Canadian focus of another traditional song that they used as an extro. So if you can find it online to watch, you will get this along with a number of other great tunes. Keep safe. Enjoy!
