10-252 (9/9/23) -- Whew!

Like yesterday, today was extremely hot. The humidity indoors made it feel very uncomfortable. The central dehumidifier ran most of the day and night and it still felt damp everywhere. Paper felt wet. Clothes hung to dry remained wet much longer than usual. Doing housework created more sweating and discomfort. The temperatures are supposed to drop in the next day or two, but the humidity will likely remain. It has that distinct tropical feel that we often get at this time of year. With all the storm action in the Atlantic, we get some residual weather. In some cases, we get the actual storms. The current monster storm, Lee, may be heading into Atlantic Canada. There have been several community meetings dealing with how to prepare for a major storm and building community support mechanisms with a focus on maintaining mental health. The latter has been a challenge for many people after the devastation of Fiona last September.

While trying to do some house work today, the title line of a song lyric ran repeatedly through my head. I will now pass that earworm along to you. <smile> Keep safe. Enjoy!
