9-232 (20/8/22) -- Music Highlights

It has been a sunny day. A wonderful weather day for the second (and last) day of the outdoor music festival in town. Two groups that I love listening to are featured on the festival lineup today. I chose to share songs from each of them.

The first one is from a Newfoundland group with stunning tight harmonies. They do folk and Celtic music with a pop rock twist. The song I chose is one that speaks to the importance of the feeling of home. Even when we can't physically get back there, our memories can help provide comfort and calm -- or as the lyrics state "solace and safety". The video is filmed at a bakery cafe in downtown St. Johns, NL -- a great place for dine in and carry out food.

The second selection today is by a Canadian group from Ontario. Their sound is indie pop rock. Quirky comes to mind for this group. <smile> They use unique instruments some of which can be seen in the video here. I love the sentiment of the lyrics. It sounds like a perfect holiday getaway <smile>. Keep safe. Enjoy!
